Developing clear, concise, well organized and structured policies is not an easy task, but rather one that consumes much valuable time and energy of the Superintendent and the School Board. That is why MMR has created its unique policy development service, we turn an arduous and often tedious task into a worry free experience for you and your Board. With a staff of experienced consultants, MMR prides itself on its ability to create a policy manual that is well organized, clearly structured and inclusive of all legal, legislative and school district policy needs. Our consultants work with you and your Board through the policy adoption and revision process in a timely manner.
The Policy Development Process
If you decide to retain MMR to develop your district’s policies, you can expect that the process will take about six months time. From the time MMR first receives your current policy manual to the final adoption of the new policies, the following will occur:
• Initial meeting to establish specific policy needs.
• Itemization and organization of current district policies.
• Check past minutes of School Board meeting for policy decisions.
• Revision of existing policies to fit new manual format.
• Writing of new policies as defined by the Superintendent and the School Board.
• Special School Board meetings to adopt, reject or revise policies in the new manual.
Annual Policy Updates
Each District that has retained MMR for policy development is eligible for yearly updates of new policies, which are defined by MSBA each August. For a minimal fee, MMR will make all necessary changes to the policy manual and deliver them directly to the District so that any questions, regarding the new policies or changes, can be discussed personally.
